Learn InDesign through working on a magazine layout. The lessons in setting up a file, working with images, working with text, and exporting your file will give you the tools and techniques you need to re-create the magazine spread of your choice. The skills and techniques learned in this class can be applied to any future project.
Use a scan, photograph, or find a digital copy of your favorite magazine to recreate the spread. You may want to start with something simple, and work up to more detailed spreads.
Don't worry if the fonts don't match perfectly. This is an exercise to get you familiar with the tools of InDesign. In working with exisiting layouts you can get a good sense of what size the text should be, how much space to have in margins and between text, and how to work with images.
